Heczková, Petra ; Burgetová, Ivana (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
The work deals with DNA sequence classification. The first part summarizes information about existing methods a their characteristics. In the second part there are description of implementation and experiments. Average sensitivity of method was 65% and specificity 92%.
Visualization of DNA Secondary Structures in R/Bioconductor
Jaroš, Marta ; Bendl, Jaroslav (referee) ; Martínek, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelors thesis deals with the visualization techniques of the secondary structures of DNA. It summarizes and discusses some of the current methods of visualization. It explains the problem and its importance from the standpoint of molecular biology. The main aim of the work is the design of a generic algorithm for visualization of secondary structures of DNA, specifically palindromes and triplexes, and its implementation into the environment R/Bioconductor. It focuses in particular on the area of 2D graphical imaging of these secondary structures of DNA. The result of the work is 2D visualization support for R/Bioconductors software packages which provide searching of the characteristic sequence of palindromes and triplexes in DNA sequences.
Variscan subduction-related plutonism in the French Massif Central
Usmanova, Diana ; Janoušek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Špillar, Václav (referee)
The French Massif Central belongs to the Moldanubian Zone, which is an internal part of the Variscan Orogen. The Massif was formed during six tectonic-metamorphic events and has a nappe structure. The Muscovite-bearing Peraluminous Granitoids (MPG), Cordierite-bearing Peraluminous Granitoids (CPG), K-rich Calc-alkaline Granitoids (KCG), and Amphibole-bearing Calc-alkaline Granitoids (ACG) types of granitoids were intruded into the nappe units during the Carboniferous. The formation of FMC granitoid plutons was predominantly linked to continental collision; only the ACG plutonites are older, typical of magmatic arcs. These amphibole-bearing calc-alkaline quartz diorites to tonalites are common in the western French Massif Central (Limousin region), where a 250 km long belt known as the "Limousin tonalite belt" is found. Its linear shape and characteristic geochemical composition suggest a subduction-related origin. Newly obtained geochemical data from the Limousin region indicate an intermediate composition (52-57 wt% SiO2), a metaluminous, subalkaline character, and place the samples in the calc-alkaline series. Furthermore, enrichment of Large Ion Lithophile Elements (LILE), depletion of High Field Strength Elements (HFSE), negative europium anomaly (Eu/Eu* = 0,63-0,92) and relatively low initial...
Using of data mining techniques and principles in the Business Intelligence solution
Štefke, Martin ; Chudán, David (advisor) ; Novotný, Ota (referee)
This thesis is focused on using data mining in Business Intelligence solution. The goal of this thesis is implementation of data mining in Business Intelligence solution. Integration of these technologies is posible to obtain synergic effect. The thesis is made in context of academic project Farfalia and results are used in the project. The goal of project is to create component for a new form of reporting and that is using data mining as a tool for data analysis. The benefit of the implementation is automatic browsing of multidimensional data cube / multidimensional data model to find interesting KPI trends, interesting patterns or anomalies in the data. Tasks of data mining are realized by analytic models that are created in this thesis. These models are prepared in R language. Developed scripts of models are universal and after their adjustment by constraints of specific project are useable in any BI solution.

Application of modern cluster analysis in a market segmentation
JOANIDIS, Filip
This thesis aims to describe the theoretical principles of customer segmentation using modern methods of cluster analysis and their practical verification in a commercial environment of utility company. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the principles of clustering analysis using K-means algorithm and hierarchical clustering algorithms. The SW support chapter deals with the possibilities of R, Rapid Miner and KXEN software tools. For the purpose of data processing the theoretical part describes SEMMA, 5A and CRISP methodologies. The practical part is focused on the analysis of homogeneity/heterogeneity of the energy market in the household segment in the utility company EON. Using data from company´s customer system, available external data and programming language R a hierarchical cluster analysis is processed. Through the analysis of gained clusters there are identified the main characteristics of particular clusters which are consequently examined from marketing usage perspectives.
